2021.12.03 00:27 animation10q Almost 3 months post severe delta recovery with MOST symptoms gone!
Was going to wait till I hit 3months but I'll save that benchmark for updates. Was a fit and healthy 28 yo man. Got severe delta COVID September 2021. Had pneumonia and oxygen dropped to 90% and had almost every common symptom. Got a mild (but stable) pericardial effusion to boot. Symptoms persisted and new ones appeared after the initial infection like severe brain fog, shortness of breath, stabbing chest/body pains, numb limbs, high BPM, hair loss, hypoxemia, cracking bones, dry mouth, cough, food intolerance (diet), PTSD, balance issues, muscle fatigue (+general fatigue), insomnia and other minor issues.
What I can tell you is almost ALL of them have improved significantly (or vanished). My only symptoms that remain a constant is the brain fog (de-realization), headache, balance and fatigue issues, dry mouth and high BPM. I still have the occasional 30 second tingle in my leg or very minor shortness of breath after a jog, but that's the least of my worries.
To be clear I was bedbound and unable to do anything even after the acute COVID infection.
I post this to possibly help out others and just expand general information. I am no doctor and my scenario is not yours, but I have helpful advice (non-liable) that should be taken at YOUR OWN RISK and with a grain of salt (and AFTER your have spoken to a doctor). Just remember that what worked for me may not work for you.
I cannot stress enough that while this is not a mental only factor (like most medical professionals make it out to be) it plays an ENORMOUS role on your recovery.
eg.) When I had breathing issues (and stabbing pains) trying every puffer in the book, I thought my lungs were destroyed from the pneumonia. Then I saw a Respirologist and did some tests. The spirometer test came back perfect, and the inhaler during the test only increased my breathing by 2%. The chest xray also showed no sign of significant scarring from the pneumonia. My Respirologist assured me I didn't have COPD, asthma or anything else.
And then a few days later... the pains and breathing issues went away! It was like knowing I wasn't damaged healed me, almost as if it was psychosomatic hypochondria.
And then other symptoms over the next few weeks started to disappear. The numb limbs I would wake to in the middle of the night stopped. The tingling during the day is practically gone. No more cough PERIOD!
Although challenging, persisting with a positive mental attitude is important to recovery! See a professional in this regard for help.
b) MEDIA & RESEARCH
Do some research and doctor verified approaches, BUT DO NOT OVERDO IT as this will eat into you and make things WORSE. Like with research and staying mentally positive, you should stay away from the news as the vast majority of it is negative. If I do any its mornings only.
c) VITAMINS & DIET
For me vitamins weren't really noticeable. I found Niacin helped, but the flush I got was alarming and unexpected, so please do research and ask your doctor before doing anything experimental.
In the early stages I was big into an anti-histamine diet and eating generally healthy, finding anything otherwise was triggering. But over time I started to eat normal again and I don't notice triggers anymore (either I genuinely recovered or again its psychosomatic hypochondria).
Seeing specialists is a MUST to rule out complications. If I never saw the Respirologist I may still be having all those symptoms thinking its from damage. Neurologists, cardiologists, etc.
I am also looking into Hyperbolic Oxygen Therapy, Neuroplasticity and Physio (will let you know how these go in the future) specifically for the brain fog and fatigue.
d) SLEEP, EXERSICE and PACING
Exercise is a double-edged sword for me because one day I'm good and go all out, and the next I pay for it. But also laying in bed would leave me weak and helpless. Pacing should prevent this imbalance.
Even during COVID I would do my best to stay active in quarantine to not cause weakness in my muscles. I also did prone-position breathing exercises to keep my lungs good.
As for sleep, if I get anything under 6 hours, I poorly function in a day. I wake up a lot when I sleep (did before COVID) and had poor sleep prior due to napping often. Try to avoid naps that way you can get that 6+ hours to recover and function, but again, not a doctor so maybe napping is beneficial for some.

As of the last patch the game feels almost unplayable again. Everything seems to kill you in one shot, losing your entire inventory makes this worse, especially when sometimes your items will just disappear from your inventory. AI can target you from kilometers away without warning, shields are useless again, and the lack of any help from in the game itself compounds all these problems.

The solitude aspect is interesting, as I value it highly, and I have not even seen a friend since the beginning of October. I spend most of my time alone, thinking, researching and studying. But what really surprised me was the part about sexuality. I'm a male in my early thirties, and I'm celibate by choice for personal reasons.
I've had some sexual encounters in the past, but never hit a "home-run", if you'll excuse the expression. It's just not important to me, and never has been. I intend to remain celibate indefinitely, and have even discussed this decision with close friends in recent months. I tend to view my sexuality more as an animal instinct that I would rather overcome, channeling that vital energy in a different direction.
I was taken aback when I read this upon looking up my birth-chart for the first time yesterday. What are the odds? Can anyone shed some light on this?
